For many of us, incorporating yoga in your daily routine isn’t that easy. But, by trying to perform simple yoga steps even just for a few minutes every single day may benefit us in several ways. This can actually help in promoting a deeper awareness of the body and mind.

Here are some tips for busy individuals:

Take a Deep Breath

Taking a deep breath can easily be done whenever and whatever we do; this increases the amount of oxygen and helps in getting rid of deoxygenated stale air and harmful toxic substances from our lungs. Deep breathing is one of the simplest ways to de-stress and it’s vital in keeping the mind and body healthy.

Stretch to be Flexed

Sitting in front of our computers, doing paper works on our desks, and answering non-stop calls for hours every day is very exhausting. Practicing yoga poses can also be done even if you’re not using a yoga mat. Though we are nailed on our desks, sitting on a chair may also work. We can do backbends and side stretches. Just by simply doing a back arch may help tired muscles to eliminate both physical and mental fatigue.

Meditate

Anyone can practice meditation. Taking a 5-minute meditation while in the car before going to work or right in front of your desk can make your day more effectual. This also promotes a sense of calmness, awareness, peacefulness, and balance which helps with the overall process of developing mindfulness. We can draw our focus on one specific thing; the easiest way to practice it on a hectic day is just by concentrating on breathing. Count each inhale and exhale of your breaths.

Find a quiet place at Home or at Work

Look for a quiet place at home or at work where you can relax a bit when everything seems to be in chaos. Try few yoga poses; this will help your body and mind feel more better and refreshed before going back to work. A little bit of yoga every day is beneficial to one’s health.

Walking

Yoga can also be done through moving meditation. Walking meditation can be practiced anywhere; just choose a setting where you feel comfortable. Try walking slowly and consciously outside, relax your arms at your sides and move freely. Take a deep breath and focus on the present.

Standing

Apart from walking and sitting, standing is another practice of meditation. Stand with your feet and let your arms rest comfortably at your sides. Your body should be aligned in good posture and you may either keep your eyes open or closed.

It really takes a lot of discipline when one wishes to be in good shape. But for those who wanted to be fit but can hardly find time in doing so, these simple yoga techniques will be of great help in achieving a healthy mind and body.
